Make paperwork easier to review.
Supplier documents and stock exceptions deserve careful attention. The planned assistant will organise possible answers while keeping decisions with shop staff.

- Require approval before any stock or financial posting.
Engineering the retail workflow
Local operations. Connected records.
Our deployed prototype combines a Flutter client with an AWS-hosted backend. We are validating one billing device per shop before expanding to coordinated devices.
Flutter and local storage
Billing and goods receiving record changes locally. Authorized offline access is time-limited, and PDF bill export is available for testing.
NestJS and PostgreSQL
Supabase Auth provides identity. Backend membership checks and PostgreSQL row-level security scope access to each shop. Monetary values use integer paise.
Events and infrastructure
AWS SQS processes uploaded bills asynchronously, with idempotent retries. Terraform and Ansible manage infrastructure and deployments; automated tests check core workflows.
Catalog definitions and bills currently sync to the backend. Purchase receipt, customer and stock synchronization, device recovery and external pilot validation remain in progress. AI-assisted administration is planned and does not control billing.
Preparing for a controlled pilot
Dependability comes first.
Billing Genie is not yet a replacement for a shop’s existing accounting or compliance records. These are the next areas of work.

Founded by Santosh Katageri in Hubballi, Karnataka, India, Billing Genie is bootstrapped and currently undergoing internal testing. No external shop pilot is active yet, and we have no paying customers. We are preparing for feedback from paint and hardware retailers.
